Marital quality: parallel between the perspective of couples and measuring instruments

This study aimed to draw a parallel between instruments assessing marital quality and the way couples conceptualize their relationship quality. Twenty-five were interviewed understand ideas about good relationship. The interviews analyzed according topics presented, which then compared with concepts included in measuring Five themes identified, partially correspondent assessed by instruments. Cultural differences found American regarding valuation of some detriment others. Research Latin population is necessary its particularities develop measures accordance these specificities.
